Privacy Policy
Who we are. TAB Retail Limited ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data handled through this website and our marketplace shops. What we collect. When you place an order — on this website or through a marketplace such as eBay or Amazon — we receive your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number, and details of what you bought. If you message us with a question, we hold that correspondence. We do not see or store your full card details: payments are processed by our payment providers (such as PayPal) or by the marketplace you bought through.
Why we use it. To fulfil and deliver your order, handle returns, refunds and warranty claims, respond to your messages, and keep the records UK tax law requires. The lawful bases are performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations. We send marketing only where you've opted in, and you can withdraw that at any time.
Who we share it with. Only what each party needs to do its job: our delivery carriers (Royal Mail and DPD) receive your name and address to produce shipping labels; our payment providers process your payment; the marketplace you bought through receives despatch and tracking confirmation. We never sell, trade or rent personal data.
Marketplace purchases. Orders from eBay, Amazon and other marketplaces reach us through those platforms, and those platforms are also controllers of the data you gave them — their own privacy policies apply alongside this one. For Amazon orders, we automatically anonymise buyer contact details in our systems around 30 days after your order is fulfilled.
Cookies and analytics. This website uses cookies that are necessary for the shopping basket and checkout to work, and analytics/advertising cookies (Google Analytics and Google Ads) to understand how the site is used and measure our advertising. You can block cookies in your browser; the necessary ones are required for checkout to function.
Social media. Our Facebook and Instagram pages are published to via Meta's platform using our own posting application. That application publishes our product content only — it does not collect, store or process any data about Facebook or Instagram users.
How we protect it. Customer contact details are stored encrypted (AES-256) in our order system, transferred over encrypted connections, and accessible only to staff who need them to process your order. Backups inherit the same encryption.
How long we keep it. Order records, including name and address, are kept for 6 years to satisfy UK VAT record-keeping requirements (HMRC). Email addresses and phone numbers are not required for VAT and can be removed earlier on request. After the retention period, records are anonymised — sales totals survive, identifiability doesn't.
Your rights. Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email info@tab-retail.co.uk — we respond within one month, and in practice usually within one business day. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Requesting deletion. Email info@tab-retail.co.uk from the address linked to your order (or include your order reference) and ask for your data to be deleted. We will anonymise your orders, messages and returns across our systems, subject only to the VAT records we are legally required to retain — and even those keep only what the law demands. Deletion requests made through eBay's or Amazon's own processes are honoured automatically.
Changes. We'll update this page when our practices change, with the date below. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
