The StarTech.com J8177CST is a copper SFP transceiver module compatible with HPE J8177C, for HPE switches such as the 1810, 1820, 2530, 2610 and 2620. It turns an SFP slot into a 1000BASE-T RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port, running over Cat5e or Cat6 cabling at distances of up to 100m.

The module is hot-swappable and supports auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDI-X. It also works with MSA-compliant switches from brands such as Ubiquiti, D-Link, Netgear, Supermicro and TP-Link that accept uncoded modules, and has a silver aluminium housing with a typical power draw of 1.3W.
