This internal Tri-Mode storage cable is designed for system integrators and IT professionals configuring high-density storage setups. It enables the direct connection of up to eight U.3 NVMe, SAS, or SATA drives to a compatible controller, eliminating the need for an intermediate backplane.

The cable features an x8 SFF-8654 SlimSAS connector on the controller side, breaking out to eight U.3 SFF-8639 connectors. It is fully compatible with Broadcom MegaRAID 9560-16i, 9560-8i, 9580-8i8e, and HBA 9500-16i and 9500-8i controllers. It supports sideband signals to ensure proper communication between the host and storage devices.

Please note that this breakout cable provides an x1 PCIe link per drive. Connected NVMe drives must be capable of operating on an x1 PCIe link to initialize properly, as standard NVMe drives often require an x4 link.
