The TP-Link Tapo D230S1 is a wire-free smart video doorbell kit: the Tapo D230 battery doorbell paired with the Tapo H200 hub, which works as the indoor chime. Its 2K 5MP camera (2560 x 1920) with a starlight sensor and built-in spotlight shows clear colour detail day and night, and the 160° diagonal field of view in a 4:3 frame lets you see visitors head to toe and parcels left on the step. Smart AI detection recognises people and vehicles and sends filtered alerts to your phone, and you can talk to visitors with two-way audio or send a recorded quick response through the Tapo app. An anti-theft alarm warns you if someone tries to take the doorbell off the wall. The doorbell runs on a rechargeable, removable battery, so no doorbell wiring is needed; it connects through the H200 hub, which it needs to work. Recordings can be saved on a microSD card fitted in the hub (up to 512 GB, card not included) or to Tapo Care cloud storage, with no monthly fee needed for local storage. Please note: this unit is missing its wall mounting bracket and adhesive pad. A replacement Tapo D230 mounting bracket will be needed to fit the doorbell.
