This optical transceiver is designed for network expansion, providing Gigabit connectivity over multimode fibre optic cabling. Built to the 1000Base-SX standard, it operates at an 850 nm wavelength to deliver full-duplex transmission across distances of up to 550 metres on 50 µm fibre or 220 metres on 62.5 µm fibre.

Equipped with an LC connector, the module slots directly into compatible SFP or mini-GBIC ports. Its hot-pluggable design allows for quick installation and hardware changes without needing to power down connected networking equipment.
